The Ugandan cell of international charity Viva con Agua has for the past 5 years organized activities gearing up to a concert that brings together local and international artists, organizations, and creative supporters.
The organization relies on positive activism / SHARITY & not Charity for positive change and seeks to raise awareness on W.A.S.H (Water Sanitation and Hygiene, hence the #WaterIsAHumanRight campaign.
Viva con Agua, uses the Universal languages of music, art, sports and Culture to raise awareness and funds for Clean-water and Sanitation projects in many different countries- All4Water, Water4All!
With ongoing yearly activities, the non-profit hopes to change the conventional way of doing charity, with a different approach and a belief that you can help those in need and still have so much fun while at it, thus focusing on an angle that pushes for creativity and interaction with art.
EA Scene has been reliably informed that artists of different genres from Uganda, Germany, Kenya and Rwanda are set to collaborate and create murals, do school outreaches, put up an exhibition and then a concert in the last weeks of November.
The timeline for planned activation activities for this year’s #ArtCreatesWater campaign include;
A trip to Moroto and Karamoja on November 18th, preparation of Walls of Water murals by the graffiti artists from Uganda and Germany on November 23rd which will progress throughout the week until November 30th.
School workshops at select schools that are beneficiaries of the W.A.S.H facilities from the Football4W.A.S.H 2019 program.
The Art Creates Water Exhibition and concert opening at the Uganda museum on November 30th.
Among the artists expected to perform are Lillian Mbabazi and Maro from Uganda, Ghanaian Stallion and Musa from Germany, among many more. If you are into art and partying for a cause, save the dates because we at EA Scene are not missing this one.
